OD i Aix-en-Provence
In July 2016, OD performed at the world-renowned Festival d’Aix-en-Provence. Under the stage direction of Polar Music Prize laureate Peter Sellars and the baton of conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, OD appeared as the opera chorus in Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex and Symphony of Psalms.
The choir’s performance received widespread critical acclaim from both reviewers and the production team. “I have staged this work with choirs from all over the world. OD performs in a league of its own,” said Peter Sellars. The production was later presented at the Royal Festival Hall in London in September 2016 with the Philharmonia Orchestra, and at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm during the Baltic Sea Festival in August 2017.
